Theft from vehicles

Alert message sent 20/09/2018 21:10:00

Information sent on behalf of Durham Constabulary

Evening,
We have received reports that works vans have been broken into in 4 different locations over night. They have happened in Clover Drive and Snowdrop Way, Etherley Dene, Greenfields Road, St Helen Auckland and St Cuthberts Way, Bishop Auckland. They have either had doors forced or been entered in unknown ways, as victims are more than happy that they were locked. Numerous tools have been stolen and if you are offered any tools to report it to police.
If you can, do not keep expensive tools in vehicles overnight, or if you need to make sure you have adequate insurance, that will cover you.
I have attached a copy of our latest security of vehicles to help.
Thanks,
PC 1296 Paul Walmsley
