Burglary of garage

Alert message sent 29/11/2018 19:05:00

Information sent on behalf of Durham Constabulary

Evening,
I am currently dealing with a break in at a block of garages on Martha Street, Tantobie. So far one of the victims has been in touch, but they believe others have been attempted or broken into. During last night, unknown person has entered garage by firstly failing to remove the hasp and padlock and then managing to twist the door, bending it and gaining entry. Unknown at present if anything stolen, but items moved about inside.
Please check if you have a garage in the area and ring 101 to report it if there is any damage or theft. Consider if your garage is not very secure, to improve the security on it.
I have attached our leaflet re home security which may assist.
Thanks,
PC 1296 Paul Walmsley
