Weekly Update

Alert message sent 26/04/2021 11:30:00

Information sent on behalf of Durham Constabulary

A brief summary of what Crook NPT were up to last week 👇🏻
🔷Officers responded to a RTC (Road Traffic Collision) in Willington. The male driver who appeared un injured was taken to hospital for an assessment. 👮🏻‍♀️Thanks to the staff of the Willington surgery for their assistance.
🔷Crook NPT assisted response cops locate a male suspect in relation to a robbery. Currently that crime is being investigated by officers from Bishop Auckland CID. Updates to follow.
🔷As neighbour disputes continue to escalate often so do the level of offences. Last week saw the necessity for one neighbour in a particular dispute to be arrested and charged with a number of offences. We will continue to work with all parties in an attempt to resolve the situation.
🔷Crook NPT often do a lot of work behind the scenes and off the street with our partner agencies. A project we are currently working on is to have a series of CCTV cameras located in Glenholme park. This will increase security, allow us to better investigate crime and ASB as well as increase the confidence of some parents who have younger children who are concerned for their safety while playing in the park.
👮🏾‍♂️If you have any concerns around Glenholme park then please message our inbox during an iPACT meeting and we can discuss it. The next iPACT is Wednesday the 12th of May between 5pm and 7pm.
🔷PCSO's responded to a call where a child had absconded from school. The youth was located fit and well close to his home.
🔷Crook NPT have been investigating a number of fires that have been lit by youths across the 3 towns.
Last week officers spoke with several youths and parents who were believed to have been involved. We will continue to engage and explain the dangers around fires. We will continue to patrol the hot spots, engage with the youth and explain the dangers of fire.
Where necessary we will look to prosecute if we continue to see this type of dangerous behaviour.
🔷As you have seen on Facebook Crook NPT assisted our colleagues dismantle a large Cannabis farm in Bishop Auckland. We often see comments like "it's just a bit of green, what's the problem"
But the proceeds of this farm would have directly funded OCG’s (organised crime groups). Which are linked to modern day slavery, human trafficking and the trafficking of firearms into our communities.
🔷Officers have been working with the local schools to arrange a suitable and safe way of returning to those schools so we can engage and deliver presentations.
