Update on Theft of Vehicles and Theft From Vehicles Where You Live

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding theft of vehicle and theft from vehicle issues, which people where you live are highlighting as an issue of concern in their survey responses.

Framwellgate Moor Neighbourhood Team will be proactively patrolling the local area, following an increase in vehicle thefts - thieves are specifically targeting Ford vehicles, primarily Ford Fiesta, Ford Focus and Ford EcoSport models. It is recommended to have layered security – use a steering or disc lock, a Faraday pouch/box for your key-less fob and consider installing a tracker system.

Always remove your valuable belongings. It could be the difference between your vehicle being targeted or not.

Keyless entry/ignition models of cars can be stolen without a key, making it considerably easier than many other cars on the market. It’s advised to take extra steps to keep your vehicle safe from criminals and theft.

We would like to remind everyone to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
