Information sent on behalf of Durham Constabulary

On Wednesday 6th March we received a report of the attempted burglary of a farm building in the Middleton-In-Teesdale area.  As a result of good security measures the thieves were not able to make off with anything.  The victim raised concerns that due to its rural location they believed the area was being targeted.

The following night another farm in the area was targeted and a Green Suzuki 400 Quad bike was stolen.  Following response from traffic officers the quad bike was located, chased and subsequently recovered by police.  Investigations to identify the suspects are ongoing.

In rural areas we would encourage everyone to make their property as secure as they can by implementing as many security measures as possible to try and deter would be thieves.

If anyone has any information in relation to these incidents, please contact police on 101 and quote incident number DHM-06032019-0450.  Many thanks.
