Durham Constabulary backs National Campaign to keep motorists safe

Alert message sent 01/06/2021 10:21:00

Information sent on behalf of Durham Constabulary

Motorists across the UK are being encouraged to “buckle up” and follow seatbelt laws, as part of a National Campaign.

The campaign which is being coordinated by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) is aimed to reduce deaths and injuries on the roads and runs until 13th June 2021.

National statistics show that you are twice as likely to die in a collision if you are not wearing your seatbelt, so educating about the importance of seatbelt rules is vitally important.

It is also important that motorists understand the rules around child restraints and how to use them properly to keep children and young people safe.

How can you help?
Help us to protect your friends or family by reminding them about the importance of wearing a seatbelt………you could be saving a life!
